Show Your Home Some Love

Valentine’s Day is all about showing appreciation for your loved ones. This year, while you’re showering the special people in your life with love, consider shining a little light on another important relationship: the one you have with your home!

Home is where the heart is, so treat yours with care by sprucing it up, boosting its value, and making it a great place to live all year long.

Deep clean. Just like any relationship, maintaining your home takes work—and a little elbow grease. Address areas you don’t usually clean, like behind your washer and dryer or inside your kitchen cabinets. Not only does this help make your space more enjoyable to spend time in, but it can also help your appliances and furniture last the test of time.

Redecorate a room. Interior design trends are always evolving, so if you’ve found your home décor feeling dated lately, give your space a makeover! Treat your home to a new look by painting a wall, investing in a new piece of art, or simply rearranging the furniture to breathe new life into a space.

Add smart technology. From home security systems to thermostats, there are so many ways to automate your home these days. Incorporate some of these modern conveniences to help make your home life easier and more energy efficient.

Remember the little things. While it is easy to focus on the big things that need fixing, the little things are just as important. Straighten your picture frames; oil your door hinges; change a lightbulb—these small tasks may not seem like much, but they add up over time!

Make sure it’s properly protected. Now is a great time to make sure your home is properly protected. Spend time reviewing your home insurance policy and making sure you are well taken care of if any issues arise.

Buy a bouquet. Bringing home a bouquet of flowers is never a bad idea! Blooming flowers instantly help warm up a room, especially during the colder winter months.
